So i just fed him and he came up top and got the floating sticks and shrimps... Not so scared of my hands now that he sees that they have food lol. He also has been swimming around and then suddenly spins around and bites the glass and he has been staring me straight in the eyes as i type this. Monster mode activated

He still hides from my hands while in the water, but after i rearranged the tank again he came out and went ballistic on the glass. Like, water spalshing out and he banged against the top and it went on for a full minute... Should i be afraid? Lol

you may want to safely and carefully weight-down the lid of the tank and unplug the light unless you're there watching him. He can knock the top off and the light fall in the tank. Him only getting shocked is a GOOD thing if you look at the worse things that could come from that happening.

.....and keep him away from electronics and outlets.

It sounds ridiculous but "this" is what you just paid money $$$ for. Enjoy. LOL I like Jaguars better.....they're a little more tame compared to male Amphs

Not too bad of an idea... Im not that worried about it, it seems like a small chance, but i might try to figure a way to weigh down the lids in a non-ugly way. Better safe than sorry.

Although im more worried about the actual fish than the money ive spent. I paid $25 for him, a darn good price to me! Ive spent a lot more than that on fish that he could eat in one bite. So i would be more upset about having killed a really nice (looking, not attitude) fish than i would be about the money.

He'd go for $60-$80 around here at that size

Cool. The lfs i bought him at for some weird reason only has 4 sizes Small, Medium, Large. Amd if its above 2" then its a medium and if its above 5" its a large... However, Oscars and Texas Cohlids and Jags all have an XL size. They dont price fish based on individulaity, just what size category it falls into.

But anyway, i could have gotten a 5" for the same price as him. That is the plus of that store, they dont seem to know that i would have paid a lot more for a fish like that.
