I've seen one around 56'' in captivity and still growin(of course it had many many thousands of gallons to swim around in). not to mention the dorsal spine is sharp and painful! With luck, maybe a public aquarium will take it, other wise your going to need to build a pond or a HUGE aquarium.

well hes going back to the lfs where i got him from as im just not going to be able to give him the home he needs which is not fair on him 
Only thing is, if the lfs is selling him at a max size of 18'', then who knows who could by him? I would suggest advertising him on MFK for someone who has a monster tank rather than taking him back
