I was just on wetspot looking at the $180 12" Nile wondering what shipping on that bad boy would be lol. I'm gonna guess from OR to Mi overnight would be a good $50 or more. I really need to stop looking before I do something I shouldn't do. Bank account still has not recovered from Christmas shopping for the family yet. But for some reason now I am finding myself really wanting a nile or lap!

Or both, since you have already broken the seal. Lol. Not going to lie, I’m seriously looking into making room for a nice albino sen because of your other thread. Lol.

Hmm. Looks like I might have a little growout tank after Christmas....

I believe you’ll get a quote of about $70’ish from wetspot. Here’s one from someone in NM who got it from them. It was about 11” when the pbb arrived. Pic below.

Yep I actually just saw your post in that other thread and was just looking at his site not even a minute ago. $45ea or 3/$120 is not bad at all. Does he usually have them on hand most times like that? If so I may just have to place an order with him after Christmas for the 3/$120

I’m not sure how many he has left. Contact him to plan ahead and find out about stock. I would of chimed in about yiur Endli but u had mentioned about your Endli purchase already.

FYI - most lap type species (Eastern & western) and pbb will be pretty light on your white sand. Meaning the markings will fade significantly. Tan is ok but still will be washed out. They’re best in bare tanks or a red/purple type substrate.

Do it I love my little albino. He's starting to fatten up a bit now. Hope to have him and the other two 5" guys moved over into the new 20g grow out tomorrow. Got the stand stained tonight and just have to fill it and move them in the morning.

I'm actually kicking around the idea of doing the garnet sand in the other 120g tank. I love the light tan in my del/sen tank but I'm thinking the Endli & Lap (if I get some) would probably color up better on the garnet. At first I did not care for the garnet color when I saw it, but the past couple months of looking at JAWS tank I gotta say the garnet is really starting to grow on me a lot.

Garnet red sand if u can find it locally is always cheap at a sandblasting abrasive company. $20-$30 per 50lb bag. Go for anything 20-40 mesh/grit size. I just changed mine to Barton red exactly a month ago from purple garnet.

I had a really hard time finding garnet. Well in the right size and at a good price anywhere near here. If you find it lmk!
Best I found and to be honest they have great other stuff too, is flint red sand and gravel. They sent me about 20 different samples and they knew I was only looking for 3 to 5 bags. The problem was shipping $50/bag. At that price I just went to Pruess and got supernaturals aquarium substrate at $45/40lb bag. They ordered the one I wanted no extra shipping.

Finding the right size is what I had a problem with when I looked a few weeks ago just to see what it would cost. The best price I could find was about $65 ordered from Walmart of all places which is somewhat odd. If I do go with a garnet I'll stop into the local Grainger store here and see if they have anything or could suggest where to get it. If I do go with garnet and find some I'll let ya know.
