Very nice lol. Take pride that a newly acquired female FH bred in less than 24 hours in your tank. Means everything was perfect lol.
As to if your male did fertilize the eggs, once won't hurt him. Just try not to keep him with the female for too long if you don't intend to breed them.
About a young male giving way to low quality offspring, that is false. You probably read that somewhere off FH forums filled with Asian breeders. My father told me the same thing when I was breeding horns. That I should destroy all the eggs of the first batch. It's all bull. IMO, it's a waste of time and energy to get your fish to breeding condition only to destroy their eggs.
Good luck with your future breeding project.
thanks water and chris. To be honest i lost my first fh...first gen zz to poor water quality... water was so bad his eyes popped out...he broke internal filter and old waste poured out overnight..
promised myself...this is not happening again... i test water every two days...
and yea he was digging up his own side lol hoping shes gonna go there haha... but yeah hes doing his head shaking and all...no aggression...
BUT when i go to feed her...he stops eating his own food to see what i do with her lol...
