NO!!! USE THE PRIMER!!!!I totally disagree!maybe if it was a drain but any pressure-use primer to be safe.And I do the same as you with the pencil mark if its gonna be in view lol

heres what the primer does-it melts the outer layer of pvc so it has grooves and pits for the cement to bond into-would it work without?sure-but it isnt strong.If i took a piece of pvc and an elbow and put them together with primer-you can not get them apart-even if i bashed them into a rock-it wouldnt break the seal.without the primer,i bet i could break them apart by hand
