My new fish room with some pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here's a pic of the ro unit on the wall prior to installing the drain and doing some finishing touches. Unfortunately I need to tear it back off the wall and make changes. I'll be adding another shut off right after the faucet and fixing a leaky pvc elbow. Also replacing the crappy factory flush valve with a regular analog standard version.

Note that the ro membrane housing has been moved out of the way so I can get to components better. What was this company thinking? :irked:

I do like that RO setup! GJ on this room, you're doing what ever MFKer dreams of.

Thanks. If you get an ro unit, don't get one like this. Build from scratch!

man u are putting 10000000% effort into this room ...... its looking sweet!

Much thanks :)

Almost forgot. TDS meter pic 4 zennzzo. I figured out why my ppm # is so high. Water softener was completely out of salt, hence incoming liquid rock. Hopefully this number will drop next run.

tank you very much...I wish I had known you were planning RO, I found a "ZERO waste" unit at COSTCO, of all places that would have worked great here...Membranes are cheaper there and easy to get, I'm thinking...;)

Seems to me that 'zero waste' would either mean one would have to replace the ro membrane more often or have to settle for more dissolved solids in their fish water . Sounds like your talking about a larger (whole house) unit which would mean a water quality compromise. Please esplain lol.

Also, not all membranes are created equal (so I've read anyway). Concensus is that familiar brand names (Dow etc.) do the job well and off brands don't.
