How can you tell at that size they all look bright ? once he gets a bit bigger he mite darken he mite not
 
Well from certain angles I can see a bit of darkness in his scales. Almost impossible to see under a white light though. TBH I had my doubts but I'm not gonna whinge.
 
No nothing to grumble about a jars a jar and he's a stunner Steve :D
 
I'm real happy with him. I don't know what my mate was on about in regards to the pellets. He eats them just as eagerly as everything else I give him. He does like to hang around the bottom a lot when I enter the room - but I think he's just nervous he should get over it
 
when i bought my jar hewas at the bottom for day or 2 hes happy as larry now
 
Mine also did it first few weeks until I got floating plants for him to hide between
 
I might add some floating plants aswell sometime. But once he realises he owns the tank I'm pretty sure the shyness will disappear
 
I think he has officially stopped being shy - he bit me this morning while I was feeding him
