i got an air pump blowing ait into the pond i did a water change i just dont understand what is going on is this normal for them to do ? please someone has to be able to help me i got 45 koi and 2 channel cats in the same pond and thay are doing awsome

sarry that was saposed to be 4 to 5 koi not 45 he is still on his side i have added carben to the tank incase ther is any kind of cemicols in the water im just so lost right know he was doing great swiming breathing calmed down then all of the sudden this gunna add anther pond pump to increase water flow see if that helps but i dont know and im afrad that it might stress him out

Hope he pulls through thats one hell of a fish...might have got some swim bladder problems during the trip in that cooler in a low volume of water. Ive has this happen acclimating fish in too little water from the start :( ....best of luck to you sir!

Hard to say he's got a very bad case of gill curl at his size he looks very stunted... depending how he was housed he may just be that stressed out... I would keep the lights dimmed and leave him alone if your water perameteres ect are fine..

I'd add another pump - more oxygen never hurts and these fish like the flow too. As we know IDS often would almost pass out from the stress of re-homing/being netted. I doubt the swimming bladder (if he has one... many cats don't). I think either stress of not enough oxygen.

Poor guy. At 20 years old he should have been 5'-6'. Good luck, bro.

o my god i am almost in tears he is still alive and doing great i put a 900gph pump in there it created about a 3 mph frow in the pond he is sitting right in front of it just chilling im so happy right know i cant even say how much lol i have a new giant and i would like to welcome "lumpy" into my house hold :) :) :) !!!

I know how you feel, bro. Just don't jump to conclusions yet - we are not out of the woods yet. When he is alive and well and feeding well in a month or two (the usual quarantine term) and your filter can handle such a huge increase in bio-load, then we could be more optimistic.

As it stands, we don't want you to have a nervous breakdown or go bipolar - just teasing you a bit :) Easy for me to say, as I'd probably be jumping-out-of-my-pants happy too :)
