My new little guy, fader.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok so after a long while, it's time for an update on the fader. I had to pull him out of the tank a few weeks back, so i measured him. as of july 20 something, he was 9" long and 2" thick, across his back not his kok. His kok is close to 4" thick. The reason i had to pull him out is because he kept breakng down the divider. He and my female still hate each other, i hope that changes. O ther then that i will post some new pics and i hope you enjoy. The middle pic is of the female i plan to breed with him, she is 10"

i think a female KKP would be awsome

HE IS NOT UGLY! The kok has gotten too big for my tastes, but its still a really nice fader. Lol its kok is still pointy XD Good work.

+1 on Cam's idea.

Cam is right that fader x a synspillum would be sweet. Hopefully he is fertile.

I have no idea if he is fertile or not. everytime I put them together, it's war. right now they are divided and he hits the divided and the top of the tank so hard I swear he will be brain damaged pretty soon. I don't think a synsphilum would last very long with him. plus I can't get any good stock around here. as for midas, tried it and he beat the snot out of her in 10 mins flat. How would you go about breeding him? also what size female should I attempt with him, same or larger size is no good.

Thanks

Breeding FH's can be tricky. Get a female(smaller than him), divide the tank and leave each on their own side. Let them get accustomed to each other for about a week and remove the divider. Add a pot or piece of slate or w/e you want to use for a spawning site. Watch them. If the female gets beat up, divide the tank again and just remove the divider when you feel the male is calm enough to mate.

depending on how bad he beats his mates up you can try letting him beat up your female a bit. he prolly just showing her that it is his tank.
i do this often the males usally calm down after the female knows her place. but if he is going to kill her the forget about it.

any updates on this guy?
