Actually bows are commonly aquacultured for their eggs. They call it Cajun Caviar and it is booming right now. Perhaps that is why its getting tough to find these on wholesale levels this year!
 
$25 isn't bad at all. I never see them for sale in my area.

Hi, I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, its illegal to import live snakehead. Im pretty sure they are bowfin. :D

I should go snap up a pic for you to view. ^^ its like $4.99 a pound

If you dont believe me, you can ask SimonL, he brought his bowfin from those supermarket :D (a big one) ^^

From what I've learned from NANFA, you really need to keep their tank highly oxygenated, as in far more than usual, to raise them past juvi size.
