My new mota

i just set up the 10 gallon to move some fish and i will move some into my brothers tank to.

hes been ina community tank since he was .75in from rapps- the other male i have is bigger and there both push overs- like firemouths

this guy is 3in+

the guy i kept is 4in+

i think this guy has better colors though- once i get one of the females i have to grow some more il drop off another at anthonys and see if we can get some babys

why cant these rookie fish owners realize that you either have a relaxed community tank of neons,cory's angels etc. or you have a predatory tank with big aggressive fish. Why would you put a mota with neons thats just ignorant. The fact that you have lost 2 neons doesn't make your mota extra mean or aggressive it just means he's a mota doing what aggressive predators do. Do your other small community fish a favor, get them a new home or get rid of them....

How do you tell the differance between a male and female Mota. I have a mota that is about 2.5 inchs and looks similar to your Zorro.

I have been trying to determin whether i have a male or female.

nice pics from both. i was going to get 2-3 today but black belts were in.
The female once mature will have more red on her gill plate and throughout the body in general when compared to the male, and the male will be larger.

might get 1 and try to mix with a black belt
