Okay, market shrimp, earthworms, mussles and silversides a good diet??

From what I heard, he was born in America... The mother was from Brazil - That's what I heard.... He looks happy in your tank... Pump him up... When ray was first born/imported, they prefer worm... Once they start eating shrimp, it's best, IMO, to keep him on shrimp or other suggest, mussel, cut fish, or even beef heart... Worm is messy, unless you're like to mess with worm

My ph is high like yours and I acclimated for 2-3 hours, i think it is a good idea to slowly acclimate if possible.

How long should I wait to do a 50% water change? The last time I did a water change was on Sunday. I normally do them every 4 days (5 max) and need some feedback.

I would leave the lights off for a couple days just to make sure he is good and setteled and then do the w/c. Of course as long as your water isnt bad right now. Check your tap though cause mine sometimes has ammonia and chloramine spikes so I have to use more prime then usual. I lost a retic because of that once.

what size tank? any other tank mates?

Its a 150gl (5x2x2)
Mates are 2 6" VATF'S, *.25" Red Tail Payara and 1 9.25" spot Gar.
I don't plan om keeping him forever. Its just an intro to rays for me. Although I might get attatched
I plan on getting some scobina or histrix in about 1-2 yrs
