I was just informed that keeping a pleco with my Ray is not good. What can I do to keep my tank Alge free (enough so I don't have to clean it )???

just clean it with one of those mag cleaners...i think that is what there called. magnetic on both sides, imo pleco's are very dirty anyways.

yea mussels at albertsons...any grocery store.

Is this with almost every pleco that they kill the Rays? I really dont want to hand clean the tank So far, my pleco does his own thing. The ray has swam and stopped next to him and the pleco does what ever he is doing, not bothering the Ray. AHHH, I'm just going to keep a close watch and If not, hes gone! That would mean I have to clean all 4 walls of the tank and the bare bottom (DAMB! It must suck to be me).

Since my Ray is so young is he suppos to have some pink under him? Its not 100% pink I would say 15% pink. Kind of like rosie cheecks. Is this normal for a 4" pup?

yeah that's normal.....

I'd say a peru motoro... nice one.. red wigglers and nightcrawlers are great to fatten it up then go to krill/shrimps to silver sides etc...

peru motoro's are dark and sometimes have lighter spots than Columbian. Columbian have very bright and a lot of spots.


if you can tell on my picture on the left, the ray on the left is a columbian and the one on the right peru.

so would you say the so called triple spot motoros are from columbia right???
