I kept a nice sized group, so I am hoping that since they are a schooling fish that this will help them get used to tank life faster.
When that flatty gets to big and aggressive send him my way for sure haha, I have a pond in the works He'd love for life.
Did not know they were schooling fish. Guess I have to get more!I kept a nice sized group, so I am hoping that since they are a schooling fish that this will help them get used to tank life faster.
haha I believe you bro...I never even try for them around here..I know they are in moraine but hell with trying to find the flats and deep water they use...channels and bullheads all day thoughMan just come down to pittsburgh. The only flatheads I catch in the allegheny are 10-16"! LOL. The worst part is I know there's monsters in there, I just can't catch them!

Oh yeah, we catch tons of monster channels and bullheads, just no big flatties. Last year I scored an almost 16" bullhead at one of my local lakes and I catch 16-24" channels regularly on the allegheny. In Erie back in may I landed a monster 32" (21 pound) channel from our private pier on a daredevle (LOL) and a guy I know caught a 35"r trolling in front of one of the tribs for steelhead with a stickbait the other week!
We regularly catch 15-20 pound channels and 20-25 pound flatties right here in our canals in the Phoenix area Where it usually only about 5 ft deep in most places.
If you want my small flathead maybe we can work something out.
Here a pic of an 18 lb channel I caught and a 12 lb flattie I caught which was the smallest one of the day.
