My New Natives

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This is the updated version of that tank. Like I told you when I text you, I moved the natives to the 125 and the clown loaches to the 55. I can't seem to get the cloudiness in the 125 to go away even with adding carbon to the filters and doing large water changes.

Oh yes, I have a thing for skulls and skeletons and those decorations aren't in there just because of Halloween. lol

I can do it this week. Just tell me the best but least costly way to ship fish. Also, you want me to go catch a few juvi channels this week.

That tank looks amazing brother!!
You know, even the cleanest water can show a haze with super bright lighting.
Mineral content can be a real bummer sometimes...we all don't have access to glacier water so we deal with the haze.
Your tank may be going through the "new tank" syndrome....BB still trying to reach equalibrium...you haven't had it running long enough.
I run a 18" Marineland LED light on my 180 because I noticed my fish, especially my CLs colored up way better in the subdued light....and it looks really dramatic....just my $.02

Duuuuude, amazing looking tank but I WANT THE STORM TROOPER! Didn't know were storm trooper fan too! Did we just become best friends? lol Once my finances heal from buying all these tanks and equipment virtually overnight, I plan to invest in LED's for the tanks. I'd love to bring my CL's color out better that's if I can get them to come out of hiding themselves. They are sooooo skiddish. Worst I've ever seen to but I'm that gets better with time as they get more relaxed with their new surroundings and learn to trust me more. If I even so much as walk close to their tank, they flip the fk out. Sucks paying so much for something you don't get to enjoy.

Nice find for you. In all honesty I have yet to see him eat when I feed the tank and I put shrimp, silversides, and worms in there daily

Some of my yellows tried to eat shrimp, but immediately spit it out and repeated the motion multiple times as if the taste was quite offensive. They have been eating redworms greedily however.

Nice. I was trying hard to go native, but California makes it tough. Got a couple medium bluegill and a smallmouth bass in local river, but ther are such huge a-holes to eachother. No where was good enough to get shelter. They just beat on eachother endlessly. Ended up going tropical with a bit more of a community vibe. Love big lumber though. 20151029_211407.jpg

Well mine gets his choice of nightcrawlers, shrimp, and silversides but I have STILL not seen him eat. Oh well, he might get eaten soon....

NICE! Where the hell did you get that wood?

Nice looking tank. There must be some interesting California natives you can get your hands on if you look around. I remember reading a thread about Tule Perch, I believe they are a california native species.
