I would suggest filling your new tank with some old tank water. IMHO, I'm sure an Ornate can handle the cycling process, but this is not a guarantee that it won't have an affect on it whether it affects it's growth or any other health issues. Depending on the size of the Ornate, you can place it in the established tank with the Sens until the tank is cycled.

that was my plan. I will see how big he is. If he is to big for the senegals, then i can´t risk it and will do him in the big tank. I also put several litres of the senegal tank into the new one, to "infect" it with the bacteria.

Well if you don't like the waiting time (i don't too), I suggest getting Seachem Stability. Just dose it and it would jumpstart the cycling period. I empty the whole bottle into my tank and it completely cycled in about 7 days time. Don't worry, we ain't putting u down. Just giving our advice.

I did use "JBL Biotop". I guess its something similar.

Cant comment since I never use those before. But if it works for you, thats good enough

EDIT:

Did some research on JBL website. I think JBL Biotopol is just a water conditioner. Mainly it removes chlorine and chloroamines from your water. Doesn't actually have in the cycling process.

If you are using JBL products, I think you should be looking at JBL FilterStart

I think JBL Denitrol is also a bacteria addictive

so has the main attraction of the tank arrived?
