Got to have a pleco in every tank. :grinyes: I have been "upgrading" my commons for some more "fun" plecos. Green Phantom huh? Once it gets used to the tank, will it lighten up like in the bag photos? updated pics soon please.

In south-eastern Michigan it seems like there are commons plecos $3-5 and then plecos $50 and up. Nothing cool in between. :irked:

I will up date soon.. he is a good color yet, he was on the back wall and very little light.. i should not have bothered with these bad pics.. haha.. but i was excited about him... :D

This pic is the best i could do until i move him out of this heavy planted, heavy algae guppy tank... but you can see even in this lousy pic he still has great color.. :D He is in quarenteen right now..then he will go with Adonis..hopefully:D

Very nice looking, although it looks more like a lowfin to me. The adipose and dorsal do not look attached in the tank shot. It is a nice northern varient, but still has a lot of growing to do. :D

I believe he is a high fin just bad shots of him.. will get some good pics eventually, Liz:D

i was told it is a high fin female.. their high fin is suppose to be a little less in height then the male..anyone ever heard of this? here is another pic of greenie.. :D She will be out of this tank in another week then i will be able to get some good shots of her:D

easy to tell the difference liz, dorsal and adipose fins are connected by extended dorsal membrame. However i admit, sometimes if the fish has a damaged dorsal... makes it harder. B demantoides is the high fin, H. subviridis is the low fin. A good example of this can be seen here http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/image.php?image_id=6955 where the non-hi-fin (H. subviridis) the adipose and dorsal are obviously not connected in any way. Haven't heard about males having a higher hi-fin personally.
