I'm in jackson between kalamazoo and ann arbor, I used the insulation between the liner and the frame and on the outside of the pond as well. I have a "michigan " basement as in that i could never finish it off and for that fact it cann get kind of cold down there in the winter, i just was trying to cut down the heating cost..and make the water temp more stable for my ray..

hey if you got a furnace heater that opens up to the basement that is enough to keep you basemen warm.... THat is IF! you keep your basement door shut at all times much as possible.

Looks good. I was thinkin about putting a pond in my basement also but then when I thought of how expensive it would be to heat it in the cold Michigan winter I reconsidered. Now I just need to find me a big tank.

Yeah, it amazes me how many people do nothing with there basements. Where there is space, there is crap to fill it.
