You cannot distinguish by looks with certainty. Don't worry about it, he is yours and that is all that matters.

I agree, they are pretty much the same thing and you are not going to be producing any sort of new bloodline so I think you should just enjoy your awesome new pet and not think about it too much.

Will he get any bigger or smaller? I was thinking 6-8ft since male stay smaller than females. Would you say that that is accurate?

If you are worried about size you chose the wrong pet. He most certainly is not going to shrink for you. Six to eight feet is a decent estimate.

I'm not worried about size just wanted to see if I had an accurate estimate. I chose him because I wanted a larger snake and these guys are well tempered. He hasn't showed any signs of aggression at all so I think he will stay fairly calm.
