So I was on Craigslist looking for someone selling an oscar and found what looked like a really nice white n red one. Called the owner he said he had no time for him this n that so I went to check it out. I get there and the oscar is about 11'' in a ----30 GALLON TANK---!!! with a 12'' pleco. I look even closer and he has no air bubbler and the filter (which is a wisper POS made for a 10 gal) is so clogged that absolutely no water was comming out. they guy said he hardly ever does water changes. ( I felt like locking that guy in his closet with 50 lbs of manuer for a week and see how he liked it). Now for the fish. the fish was in bad shape not moving laying on its side, scales looked "dry" almost. He had Hith on his gil n head pretty bad and just looked miserable. *And the guy wanted Money for him* I told him what bad care he was taking of this oscar and how it should have been, then told him look I Cant give you money for him and hes prob going to die, but I will take him and try to nurse him back to healthy. The guy agrees. So I get him home now mind you it was a 40 min drive the oscar is damn near upside down in my bucket, I aclamated him asap into my 30 gal nurse tank. now after a few days of treating him with fresh CLEAN water and salt. He is in my 125 and up and about and eating and looks alot better already. heres some pics I took with my cell phone so I apologise for the blurry.

Really nice . Great rescue ( 30Gals :banhim:) .

Looks like he has/ had quite bad HITH , but apart from that looks very healthy from them pictures . :)

For him too sit at the bottom on his side , he could just be sulking which is very common in Oscars when they get put in to new tanks or something is changed in the tank , in a couple of days he should be up and about eating everything he can get in his mouth .

... oh and by wonderful story I don't mean that it was good of the guy to do what he did, I meant about you and how you've turned that fishes life around!

Great job on saving that oscars life.

Yea that first pick is actually right when I introduced him into the 125 last night, after about a day in there he was active. but when he was in the guys 30 he wasnt just resting at the bottom he was more like struggling to stay alive. he was unresponsive, didnt even struggle when i scooped him up with the net or anything , now he is way more livelier, I wasnt sure if I should have put him in the 125 just yet because I have a 7 inch jag whose pretty nasty and I didnt want him attacking the oscar in his weekend state but I actually started to have complications with my 30 gal nurse tank so he had to go in a few days early but hes holding his own right now. Oh I also rescued the pleco ; D even know I really didnt want him lol
