I think the discus will lighten up and show more contrast and the angles will take on more of the brown/bronze color of an Altum. I like it. You could also through a couple hand fulls of PFS for even more contrast.

Thats what I am thinking... there is some residual black in there and I want to see how it looks once it mixes in a bit before I add anything. But I was already thinking just a tiny but of gravel may break it up too.
