Hey guys this is my New and first Silver arowana, just picked him up yesterday, still hasn't eaten anything.. but it hasnt even been 24 hours so i guess its ok right? tell me what you think !

yea you might need to move him into a bigger tank within a few months, but not eating the first day is common with most fish. looks good and good luck

what size tank do you have? what size is the aro and how long have you had him for? i have a 3-4 inch aro and its been about 2-3 weeks and he barely eats sticks, but hes progressing. just gotta wait and keep trying the new food hell eat it when hes bigger
I have had him for 2 days and hes in a 40 gal by himself. And yes ina baout a month ill be getting a much bigger tank.. i just have to get the walls in my rooms painted before i put a huge tank there. But hes pretty shy but hes not as shy anymore hes getting more use to the tank and brightening up now. Hes about 3".. still a little guy. Got him for $25. I feed him hikari arowana sticks and freeze dried bloodworms.

is it eating ok now? BTW guys is there anyway i can tell if its male or female?

hes probably gonna be shy for a little longer until hes bigger. ive had mine for about 2 weeks.
Bderick - Yes, thank you i do know they jump because my uncle lost 2 of them because of that but still has his 12" one But i hace it escape proof.
I dont know why but he/she still wont eat? I picked him/her up on thursday night? so thats like 3 days without eating.. is this normal? All he/she does is look at itself in the reflection and try and get at it?
