Just picked this little monster up this afternoon.
Been keeping an eye on him for a few weeks at the lfs and finally pulled the trigger on him. I think "him" not sure if it's a he or she?!?!
Any help or advice will be very appreciated..
Here are a couple pics

Nice baby Aro! :) My suggestion is making sure he gets food, preferably floating foods such as freeze dried mysis shrimp, freeze dried bloodworms, small floating pellets. If fed well with good water parameters Aro will grow up fast.:) Btw if you can buy pinhead crickets from lfs rotate that in your feeding schedule.

Thanks, the lfs said it was eating crushed up freeze dried shrimp and small cichlid pellets which is what I'm feeding the little Texas and flowerhorn that he is with.

Keep your eye on that juvie Texas Cichlid hopefully it won't harass the Aro, they are fragile at that size. When fully grown a different story lol.:)

Thanks, I found out quick they will not leave him alone. He is now in a smaller tank alone!! Hopefully he will grow out fairly quickly and I can try again. Scared me to see them picking on him. He has s good inch on the bigger Texas but rookie mistake that Tex is no joke at his size! The Aro has calmed down a little now. I felt stupid because I should have known better.

Ty it s a crappy cell phone pic but yeah he's my boy :) he's well on his way to 2'. Abt 18" or so don't have a hard measurement. He's abt a 16-18 months I would guess. Got him at like 6" abt this time last year
