My new tank (first real MONSTER)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
wow how many people help u carry that thing?

It was somewhere around 12 I can't remeber it was hecktic though. Once the stand was off we tried to move the tank and three of us couldn't budge it. we all started laughing b/c we didn't know if there was enough of us to move the damn thing. So I went and got two ratchet straps and took the ratchet end off and hooked the two hooks together. Then we wraped the strap around the tank and had about three guyy on each side pull the tank and two of three guy bihnd the tank pushing it. Then there were three or so guys at the end of the trailer getting ready the catch the tank when it came off. I owe the guys who helped that day BIG.

Wow, I missed this thread when it started.
I have not read the entire thing yet. I know exactly the tank you are talking about. I remember seeing it in the store.

If you want a cheap substrate, go to Lang Stone in downtown columbus. Call first, but ask for Red Flint gravel.. they have various sizes, including one that the stones are 1/4" to 1/2" in size. That's what I use on my 300 gallon. It is very inexpensive, less than $20 for my 300g, along with some other rocks, and I had a bunch left over.

Red Flint gravel looks great and is aquarium safe (used by public aquariums).

Sweet deal. congratulations.

good looking out for the sub. But this tank will not have any when it is setup. All it will have is some drift wood and maybe some bigger rocks for hiding spots. I want to be able to clean the inside VERY easily.

What did the shark look like that was in this tank? I have been to the Bollingbrook store and saw a very cool shark there in a pretty big tank. It was brown, pretty lazy, actually when I was there they lost power and once the lights went out the shark took off swimming.

Next time I am there I will grab a pic of it, I have no idea what kind of shark it was, I dont know much about salt at all. But it had to be at least 3' I would say, pretty big around. Sound like it could be the same one?

BTW, sick tank haha cant wait to see it filled...

sounds exactly like the one that was in this tank. VERY lazy idk if it was from the size of the tank or just what that shark does. but it sounds like the one to me. But I do NOT know anything about sharks so I have no idea what exactly it was. But if you do get a good pic of him Plz post it here So people can see what was in this tank.

Nice score bro, can't wait to see it when finished. Looks like you got the hard part done, getting it home. Now the fun starts. Congradulations!
