My new tank (first real MONSTER)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
how about a hundred neon tetra hehehe, just joking. If I had a tank like that I'll still be putting Piranhas in there.

should be an EASY decision ... lol
rays, aros, pbass
then pick a few others to fill space (ck, ir, plecos, large cichlids or a gator :D)

i like where this tank is headed ... the goldies are a great community fish, i say you add 2 rays, and then about 200 comets, and leave it like that

HAHAHA !!!

I could do that but i found that the comets don't like the current from the pump and i'm only running half the pumps. lol

I saw the first few pages and couple of last ones ^^ heheheh you are still at the feeder stock and cycling the tank.

Can't wait to see it fully stocked.

Marble pim catfish does not grow that big (2'-3' tops). How about getting some of them (fairly nice patterns?). You might wanna go with some fancy plecos L22, 25 or 114 (really would add color to your tank)

Too bad you can not have asian aros ... well silver, black and jar would still be great

i have a tank that i was going to do the plecos in but I found it pretty hard to find nice plecos b/c of shipping but I did work second shift then and now I'm on first so it might not be as hard to come across.

If I could legally get asians I would.

this thread is funkin nuts. i read it all an think i had all my emotions tested so far!! was jealous and in love with the tank then on the edge of my seat when you had to drill, then gutted for you when it smashed, then i sat and laughed at the size of your goldfish to the size of the tank!! lol and now i just cant wait to see it up and going. you obviously have either a very nice or well trained g/f to put up with ya - my missus wont let me get another tank - she says we have no space (bet i could find some!)

I bought her a 54 corner. so she's got a little tank of her own to play with. she has had about enough of my tanks though. lol I don't care I need to either do a 180, 240 long or 150 extra wide. OR build a custom as big as I can with the room I have left. Then I'll be done b/c I'll be out of room. lol

Forgive me for not going through all the pages koop, but I see your first post indicates you haven't gotten it yet.
Have you bought it yet?

Thank You for your patience.

that's fine lol I can't sit and read 25 pages without getting a headache lol Yeah I have the tank it took like 124 guys to move it in b/c it's all glass. I had to make a sump out of a 100 gal rubbermaid tank b/c my idea for a custom dual 55 gall setup didn't work (see my albums for pics ) I am currently sitting like this.

I still need heaters, tops and I have check valves for the spray bars on the way.

I have all the plumbing done minus the spraybars b/c they are on order. I have water in the tank and some small comets in the tank for giggles.

I hope to pick up some OT soon to help pay for the top. I need to get someone to make it b/c I want glass and it's odd shape I need someone that can cut the glass.

Li gave me a sweet link for the heaters. I am more then likly buying 2-1000wattt heaters. from the link I got.

That should bring you up to date. I am still toying with stocking but I know I want two motoro rays. Again I have some pics in my albums basically all the pics I posted in this thread can be easily viewed there.

And with all hopes I will have the first fish in there by the first of the year. of not sooner

I would not do a gator unless you are prepared to house it elsewhere in the future. 3 foot width is going to last only for couple of years. My biggest one is pushing 1m at two years ... hmmm they are not very flexible (that is why he is in 80" wide aquapond)

Try harder with the plecos (the ones i mentioned), it would really boost your tank with really bright coloration, because unless you are getting cichlids, the colors on aros (asians excluded), rays, bichirs, CK can be quire dull (silver, black, grey, greenish). My humble opinion only of course ^^
