hurry and get this tank together ... you could have it stocked for free if you can beat everyone else to picking up KNH's fish!

quit cutting wood, and cycle that tank!!! hahaha
jk man, hope the tank is coming along well

KNHs fish?! I need to do some looking.

now the next question is, did you see the FREE pima in michigan ???
probably a little too big for your tank long term, but definitely very cool. they have a post in the FS section

I saw one that rosewood had on his site. But I don't know if it was free. I am in talks with HKN with some of his fish at least the big guys. I will take them all if he wants them all gone. I do have a 125 I'm stocking also. So the smaller ones I can home in a different tank and the big guys I will home in this tank. We'll see if it works out. either way i'm game to take them if he wants. I am getting heaters this weekend. I guess jacks has 800 watt heaters for 70 bucks. so i'll get two of them.

but yeah a pima is just to big. (for now. lol)

I am going to set up my 150 G tank
I need advice as to what gravel to use. do i stick to my plan of using a sump?
how big of a sump would suffice?
Would putting live plants be advisable or not?
I read the blog of what NOT to stock but anyone has any advice on what to stock? I want big and colorful and easy to maintain fishes.
Anyone care to share their advice and experience with these?
Thanks,
Alex

Army doc. since your questions dont' realy pertane to my thread I started a new thread for you here http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2383091#post2383091

but to anwser what I can for you....

Any gravel you like will work I prefere Estes' brand They make the best looking black gravel I have seen an I do use it in three of my other tanks.
A sump would work great on a 150 or you could use a FX5 cansiter and two AC110s.
A sumps volume is usually 1/3 the tanks volume so 50 gal in your case.
Live plants are great but I have yet to do a planted tank. I will but not till my fish room is done.
big and colorfull is more then likly going to be your chiclids but if you get SA cichlids you should do a riverrock tank instead of gravel b/c they will constantly move you gravel around. I do like the jags though. I have two of them and they are very colorfull. and decent with there tankmates.

Need to get some marine paint for my tops. I decided it would be alot more cost effective to do my tops in plywood and then coat them in a marine paint or epoxy. But I am haveing trouble finding any local. And I need it on the fast. I will do a thread in the setup forum about what to get and from where. till then. I got nothing new. Alot has been going on with finally getting some OT and having to split firewood. But I have most everything I need to get the tank done.

I WILL have fish on the 16th. So watch for that update.

Get two guppies, and let them fill the tank.....

But really
Piranhas!
25 RBPS!
AWESOME!
