  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the person we bought from was not running the skimmer think that is why tank so dirty got it going now so hope this clears up soon.
the water tests all perfect half water is original sea water half we made up with salt . he said the base rock is ocean rock rest supposed to be live bt it dont look as good as what we had! hope it clears up bit no corals at all growing just that nasty things.
saw few bugs on it while preping looked like centapede (excuse my spelling) got two clowns one a maroon, three hermit crabs and one shrimp. in qt tank left over from originaltank got one goby one real ugly thing i love!! think it some kind of goby and one dominoe thats all left lost one yellow tang one powder tang one dominoe one goby starfish thik thats all lesson learned about qt thats for sure!!

Very cool deal. Don't worry about the base rock, it will be colorful soon enough with coraline algae if you keep up the calcium and lighting. It probably is already live if the tank is used. With the skimmer your tank will clean up plus partial h2o changes. Cool. I need a 200 gallon salt tank. Mine is only a puny 29.

right got the info now ! its 3 ft sump with ocean runner pump aqua medic skimmer, tunze power head and deltec t5 lighting is this all good or should i get all detec stuff ie skimmer?? how much calcium should i be adding and when ie how often??

Nice. 3' sump. You can put the skimmer, heater, live rock in there. Lighting is preferential if you aren't going to keep corals. Calcium levels about 400ppm if you want coraline and/or corals. As long as your pump, skimmer and other equipment is working you're all set! I like t5 and power compacts myself, MH is too expensive and hot.

Can we get some more specs on the T-5?? do you know if ther HO or VHO or just regular T-5. The difference will mean what type of corals you can keep. What is the dimension of the Tank (front to back) and then what is the dimension on the light (front to back). I might recommned a couple MH pendats just because the tank is so large and you could use the T-5 for actinic purposses and use MH for main lighting. I think with a fan you will be okay for temp. Plus you have a canopy to hid all of the stuff. I would put a fan under the canopy and above the sump in the cabinet.

our lighting
we could change bulbs if wrong but not canopy cause it all part of cabinet, there is glass between lights and water is this normal? and ok? the lights we got are deltec lighting unit 2 x d + d aq aqua blue 80 watt 5ft long
2 x arcadia marine blue 4 foot does not have wattage on it is this ok?

wow that kinda sucks

How old are the bulbs? If they are more than 6 months old I would replace them. Does the canopy open like a tank lid,or do you have to lift it off of the tank.? I would like to see a picture opf the l;ighting if possible.

i agree, not to familiar with the deltec brand of lighting. I would suggest finding a company number if you could and get some specs. We need wattage and spectrum if you can get it.
