my new temensis sp 'bahia'

All I meant to do was instead of compliment his fish (which apparently if you don't do, you're a troll?) and tell him his fish is not "playing." Something, could be anything, is stressing him out, not sure why I need to own cichla in order to reasonably come to that conclusion?

Next, not sure why you guys insist on calling me ma'm? Grow up

I'm pretty sure that this thread is in the cichla media section and not the general section. So compliment ops bass and move along.

Probass - Dont you realize that if you continue to be in this thread that you will continue to aggravate the situation? Yeah you keep sayin' you're right but c'mon jesse it ain't about that anymore! We're all guys here and if you keep on challenging us in our own turf, some of us here will fight back either with a comedic sidenote or something just to tick you off more. yeah maybe its all huggy friendly in bichir street, but it aint that way here. i haven't personally met any of the forumers here besides the guys from my country, but this is home and we all speak the same language here.. trust me we are really INTO our cichlas and we know what we are doing, if we don't know we ask amongst ourselves thats why we go to cichla forum! so thank you so much for visiting jesse, thanks for the helpful advice, sorry for the bashing, and i hope us cichla folk can continue to talk about cichla now? if you have something to say and you might, just go right away and say it... but after i will have to penalize you for overstaying and have you deported. :D that was a joke, but yeah, we bid you farewell... please.

Nice pinima, don't see many these days. Good luck raising them and keep us updated.

thanks ingrda. yeah im planning to transfer him to a 75 gallon that's being fit with new filtration now, 20gallons is too small coz some more small cichlas are on their way:) will give it a day or two before moving him. hope all goes well.

yeah, I would be concerned, however fish are not even that intelligent, and people would run into a clear glass sometimes, so I don't blame fish, \ with smaller brains for doing the same. Some fish are just neurotic, or maybe the keepers are.

You are more than welcome to post here, and anywhere on the board. Internet people are too uptight sometimes. A world without people expressing their opinions is a dead world.

Would you be concerned if you dog started to wear out its pads from jumping so much? Or would you call it playing? That's what was done here, and when I tried to tell them different, they call me a troll, fair right?

Hes not playing if he's riding the glass till his lips turn to sores... Fish do this when stressed, something is stressing him out, my guess is lack of decor that he can hide behind and feel safe

Actually this is or would be considered normal behavior for a newly introduced Cichla whether one or ten but more often with just one they feel comfort within groups or rather Schooling time to settle in is a necessity for Cichla!!!Fry just react this way and must be dealt with accordingly .....

I understand and I know this, I just wanted to make the point that it wasn't "playing" it was stressed (moderately) due to any factor, in this case most likely new to the tank like you said.

Honestly this was blown way out of proportion and I'd just like to say that a few members said some things that were pretty full of hurtful intent, which I'm immune to, just would like to point out it says a lot about your character when you are so quick to insult some one you don't even know over something that mattered so little, just my 2 cents, I'm done with this thread and op, awesome fish and sorry for all the derailing on my part.
