i've heard that they grow 1" per month until about 15" then growth slows down after that.. maximum is 3ft in the wild but probably 26" in captivity :)

the amazon river seem to have an endless supply of really beautiful and cool fishes!

they are from Muddy river channels with swift currents from Brazil (Rio Madeira), Peru (Rio Amazonas), Columbia.. from what i've heard they have not been bred in captivity yet.. i don't think they have an endless supply though since they are slowly being banned from export from those countries to prevent their numbers from quickly decreasing..

thanks for sharing the informations. well, so i will be seeing my tig get big soon. hehe. so will they be totally banned from the sales trade in the future?

i'm really not sure about that.. probably depends on how low their population is..
