Let me get this right, althought when a juvie this Amphilophus displayed a barred pattern as its maturing it will colour morph into a piebald.

I also did a bit of a Google on this and a couple of pages came up saying that it can be quite common for barred midas's to lose the bars when in an aquarium environment - any comments?

Can anyone sex this fish for me? Apparently it's impossible unless you know how to 'vent' cichlids (which I don't) as there are no sexually distinguishing features that identify males or females of this species.
