this thread is a joke.
nice male jag, nice pearsei.
nice MIDAS, and nice fish in general.
its not a damn firemouth, its definitely an amphilophus species.
people do your research before talking smack.
and that GT isnt a true rivaltus, its an acara.
thank you come again.
Nobody said it was "a damn firemouth"
I said it kinda looked like a firemouth, which it does, at first glance with the blurry-ass photo.

Very nice fish, they are all beautiful IMO! I have to agree with the midas/RD though...when I went to get firemouth I ended up with one of these guys...and maybe that pic does not look EXACTLY like a fire mouth..but having both the FM and Midas/RD tank at the same time, the same size...they DO resemble a FM...no they are not exact, but there were times I would have to do a double take to see which was which.

Here is a pic of my Midas/RD as a juvie and now...

Ok, took a few to find the pics, but I wanted to post the Midas/Rd WITH the FMs...there ARE similarities the RD face to face with a FM, and then swimming with them...

Nice...

LMAO!! We will just have to agree to disagree on this one ;) I do agree they look different, but there are some similarities.

Yeah, the monkeys they are Gorillas not monkeys there is no resemblance to a monkey, but thanks...J/K of coarse!:raspberry

Which on is suspected Festae? Do you have another pic? I know you are getting sick of that question. How are the bars right behind the head of the festae? Do they Connect clearly or not connect but come close?

Just can't get a better pic!!!! Fish will not sit still for me and at the moment I'm getting a lot of reflected daylight off the glass and I've got to use the flash. Did manage to get one more pic but not very good.

The barring on the fish is distinct with complete bars running the width of its body, slightly darker towards the middle. There is a distinct darker spot at the base of the tail, and the overall colour of the fish is a reddish brown to lighter more golden between the bars. The underneath of the fish appears to have a more reddish colour. And the fins are slighly more darker than the body almost purplish. Some of the photos I've used previously have had the flash on and it may have washed out the colours.

There is a bar directly behind the gill plate not as distinct as the others and is not as vertical but angled.
