My next insane thought. Air tight Sealed tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My thoughts on this would be to have the tank sealed, with the drain of the tank higher than the tank. This would create a head height higher than the tank. Thus, a completely full tank. You would get your air exchange in the sump, But it could work. I'll see if I can draw something up.

Thats could work and server as a dual use, you could also have a tee on it with a screw on cap so you could inject medication or chemicals into the system with ease.

This was actually my concern with even just venting the tank to the outside as suggested previously. I know it can be vented and would work but I just wonder how much strain it would put on the heaters from Nov - Mar when its ranges from -1 to 20 through the icy winter. As well as possiblilty of some outside critter trying to crawl into the vent.
