No gloves but I shooo him away with my extra long gravel vac and have learned to be quick to move out of the way when he comes for me.

I got him around last summer at about 11". I traded my Carpintis, Argentea and Lyonsi in for store credit to make room for the Dovii.

Crappy, none look crappy. What makes Dovii and other cichlids special is that each one is unique in it's own way and we can appreciate each one for that.
