My now empty 55 gal

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
with an oscar, less than a year, prob like 8 months and you'll be upgrading, but Green terrors have more personality then the JD normally and should be fine in a 55, a red devil will prob be fine in there for a while, but will eventually need a lil more room, the thing that is killin ya is that 12" footprint. Maybe a blackbelt cichlid.

blood parrots and red devil are awsome! you should raise them but the red devil will need more room when it grows. they also have very pwnage awsome personality!

Get an Oscar they (well mine is nevercamera shy) he always gets excited wen i walk into the room and evrytime i look at him he is doing somthing in there like moving gravel or tearing up his fake plants.

how can one oscar live in a 55, a full grown oscar is longer than the tank is wide, keeping an oscar in a 55gallon for life is cruel, maybe as a grow-out.

Pretty much look at anything w/ an adult size of about 10" the only bichir i'de even consider doing in a 55 would be a Senegel. and then i'de prolly get like 3 =D

EDIT: and I will disagree w/ those saying a 55 is acceptable for an Oscar full size. I've seen it, and imo it's cruel.
