My ongoing Panther Chameleon Thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have had panthers and veils in the past and I would like to share what I did in the past.

Mist with a bottle as early as you can. This is the morning dew in the wild, but always have water dripping so they can drink when they want.

-What I used was basically a drip system made from any plastic bottle with a valve attached to air tubes attached to one long artificial plant. I would put this above my mesh terrarium and had this drip for 8 Hours or so. This water would drip in a large bowl of some sort wtih a twig in it just in case my chams fell in. This method worked great for us. Just refill the jug and you have another 8 hours of dripping. You can how ever set up a drain some how so you dont have to dump what bowl like what I did and put a pressure reg on an indoor spigot.

Oh and to help prevent Metabolic Bone Disease, always change your ZooMed bulb on time and powder up your feed. I forget what this powder is called but it has loads of nutrients.

Here are some photo's of some of my chams. I do miss them. Pastal,Prizm, and Hercules.

WOW, those Panthers are really (Sahweeet, to use a phrase of Jeff Ronne) looking, the Veil is pretty super looking too. Panther's are amongst my favorite Chameleons.

Well try out this misting system its been working well for me so far for my Jackson Chameleon and for my little greenhouse.

Take a gallon milk jug and poke a couple pin-hole sized holes in the bottom. I don't have any pics unfortunately.

Nice idea! :) Thank you...

How long does this last? I guess I am looking for a homemade dripper that will last at least 8 hours while I am at work....

Good luck...It all depends on how large the container is and how slowly the drops drip. Its not going to last that long though. You don't need it to either. Misting twice a day (before you leave for work and when you get back) should be fine for a panther chameleon and if you have a dripper for an hour or two, you'll be fine.
