i'm surprised. Guess it depends on the how much money you may spend? Or we do not buy enough as a store? I do not advertise where I get my fishes or goods from with my customers, but it is them that say hey I was out at so & so's & bought some plecos for half your price! How NICE! Like I said if you do buy from there you better see what you are getting? Its a 50/50 some good some real bad. Also place fish in holding tank & treat because you can lose your existing stock if not careful.

were in Cleveland/Old Brooklyn. We have a hatchery where we mainly raise rift lake cichlids & some other stuff. Will be expanding into more South American. I will be actually be collecting this year in the amazon so it will be interesting what we come back with?

I have had mixed results with tfd though they have always been nice and receptive to my requests and orders. I would continue to order from them from just being selective on what I get.

Dave......when are going to the Amazon? I have been down there twice to collect and it was a great experience.

August w/ margrita tours out of Miami, Have not booked it yet, but been planning & trying to get the best on air fare.
I can not wait to go! Setting up more tanks now to be prepared to fill them up. I also have a federal permit now to import/export fishes, so in the near future I will be getting most stuff direct. Plus I plan on making a trip to Africa in the future also. So in turn we will be our own wholesaler & supply our hatchery breeding stock & future projects.

That is the same tour I have gone on. Devon who runs Margarita Tours is a class act. Enjoy the trip ........... it is great....you will want to keep going back, and back, etc.....
I plan on going back in July 2009.

It depends on what you find though on the first trip we came across two electric eels. The way you know there is an electric eel in the water is when you are shocked through your dipnet. You will come across a ton of apistos, different kinds of catfish, and characins. Take a light jacket since some evenings in July and August are actually a little chilly. Bring a dependable flashlight and a head light since you may go out on an evening hike. Bring two or three portable pumps that run off of batteries. Frabill are the best. Quality dipnets with a small enough mesh to collect even the tiniest of apistos. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know. Margarita Tours provides a list of potential supplies which helps alot.

If you have an issue with the seller take it up in a private message. I am tired of people bashing these WHOLESALERS who try and give hardcore fish keepers like us a break. So you had a bad experience deal with it, sometimes that happens. I personally have order from Joe over a dozen times and have never had an issue that did not get resolved over the phone with in a few minutes. Keep up the good work TFD I will still get fish from you guys.
