Well as long as a fish is eating and has no obvious damage or infections the chances are its ok all i can say is make sure you do your water changes that and filtration is the most important aspec of fish keeping

yea btw they look beautiful the young 1s easily get stressed just feed it them regularly when there big they will look nicer lol

He will be fine. Its just color, nothing to worry about. I got an 8" ornate and his color is a bit faded (same as yours).

I think it is not the diet to blame I have fed my 3 incher ornates amd had no problems.
