my friend purchased an oscar about a month ago and he looked great, he only had one eye. Hence his name was 20/20. anyways, he recently lept from the tank onto the floor and wasnt found until it was too late. has any of you had an oscar leap from the tank?

when my red oscar was younger he would always jump up and eat krill from my hand. then one morning i opened the lid to feed as usual and as soon as i did he jumped straight out and landed on the floor. i put him in and he has been fine since but has never jumped since. im pretty sure he was planning to escape because i had a hood on the tank and the opening wasnt that big, and he positioned his body so that he would come straight out through the opening, and it did not seem like a random jump at all. these are smart fish
