My Oscar just hit me in the chest!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That is funny, that guy was clown shoes. That oscar didn't even clear the water.

lol, great story! ...that vid was pretty cool as well....everytime i feed my O he's been getting a little more rowdy/jumpy at the top of the water. i thought it was pretty cool at first. but, now i just hope he doesnt start getting any ideas of head butting me in the chest! :nono:

Just got home from work, so I figured I'd tease mine a little. Held the Hikari just above the water line; and sure enough, he was out of the water. About to the gills, like before.

I used to hold the food several inches above the water so I could drop it near his mouth, so the current wouldn't carry the food away. Got bitten several times, and I learned that this is not necessary, this pig will find the food.

My oscar has to be one of the meanest bastards I have ever seen. He attacked me, he is currently keeping a Monster Jack Dempsey in the corner of the tank, he busted my thermometer, and tonight is pounding the glass hood. I have heard over a dozen hits. He is a glass banger for sure. Thankfully the glass is thick.

My Jack comes out of the water every day to the bottom of its gills when I feed him pellets. I use to show off and feed it a single pellet at a time by hand untill the 10" bastard grabbed my finger one day and wouldnt let go for about 5 seconds! I pulled him completely out of the tank, pulling my finger back because I was in shock. He wouldnt let go and kept muching on it untill it finaly let loose and dropped back into the tank. He never broke the skin but ruffed the hell out of it! It was a sight to behold, let me tell you. My buddies still talk about it.

I just figured out why the oscar was slamming the glass. I drop food in the back of the tank, next to the filter. That way the oscar doesn't jump because I never open the lid. I accidentally dropped a piece of krill on the back glass. He was trying to get to it.
