what potential size can or will my oscar reach in my 72x19x24 tank ? of coarse being decent to good water qaulity and temp set at 80-81deg, feeding NLS as well

How do guys get these fish to grow to like 16-18inchs ?? One guys locally here had his grow to 17" within 12months also in a 6t tank prolly same as mine or close to it

Space, pristine water, good diet, lots of water changes. Fresh, clean water can do a lot for your fish's growth!

Well I do 80-90% water changes weekly in my big main tank, so I'm sure the water quality is up there quite a bit would ya not ?

You need to be checking your ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and ph weekly before you do a water change. Also vary their diet. Don't feed just NLS. Mix it up some, they may not grow to 15"+ but they will be happier, and healthier which is more important than size.

Why do I need to check them before water changes weekly ? Just so I know how much water to change or ? Usually my levels don't fluctuate

Check them weekly because its a good habit and you can catch an issues before they become problems. You check them before water changes because it would be pointless to check after one. I change 25% twice a week no matter what

i dont check mine every week all though i do check em maybe once a month usually or if i spot a issue with someone

I bought mine at 14 inches and it had lived in a 75 it's whole life. Genetics is a big factor. i would think 11-13 inches. Most Oscars don't even exeed 14 inches. if you are lucky it might. the diffrence between 11-12 inches and 14-5 inches is not too much. if you want a large cichlid get a largesr growing cichlid(oscars are already pretty big). Pearseis are nice and they get a tiny bit longer(and a lot fatter).
