my over flow tank idea literally an over flow tank! (help needed plz)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no need to worry about gph its will be like you run it normally but with water fall effect all over the tank and you will have more water for your fish like a real sump

... Uhh false.

Of course the GPH mattes. If you have 5000 GPH in a twenty gallon tank you will be screwed. Same thing if you have 1 gph.

I always go for 4x turnover at least.

so 80gph? in the sump i plan on adding some banana leaf plants on the entree and then a divider with bio balls then on the exit of the bio balls a filter bad then off to the pump. but will i have enough water to run the part? for some reason it sound like a big pump.

i think it be cool to have some salamander and guppies in the platform part hmm (with a big plant for basking of course)

You could use a canister rated for the combined volume of the three tanks. That would work fine as long as you don't overstock.

ever considered making an IOS tank?

Was talking about a canister vs sump and pump.
Will be much easier with canister to keep fish in the "platform" too.
With sump the fish will not have enough water in or not at all and if they have, i think a mess will happen.
With a canister, the water will stay at the same lvl.
Good luck with it.
