  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Beautiful pair. Really nice to see more p14s on here. Are they extremely active?

Active would be an understatement. My garage floor was soaked when I got home. The female more so than the male. Its x10 worse (or rad if you love active rays like me) if they are hungry.

Speaking of active, these three henlei (ive had this trio a for a while) are hands down the most active rays in the collection. The lightest one sucks down air with her disk so hard I can hear it in other rooms (WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH). They lock up/arch their disk over food like no other rays I have. Very aggressive eaters.

I'm going to post up a trick in a thread for you guys to get your rays WAY more active soon. I'm waiting on a shipment of more to arrive so I can get good pics, video and explain before I do.

My Henlei pair are ridiculously active. They're constantly riding the sides and the current from my return. Very aggressive eaters constantly topping each other to try and steal the other rays food even though there is plenty to go around. lol. Always water WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH as Justin described. Heavy glass cover on the tank and they still manage to make a mess down the 4 sides of the tank. Shouldn't have placed the tank so close to the wall. now i cant clean the back panel.

Very nice collection you have!!!

Glad I'm not alone. The henlei trio goes in the big tank this weekend with the BD female, motoro female and leo female. The p14's get the old henlei tank to themselves.

Thanks Morgan! Pearls will be something I will go after in the future but for now with all of these black rays and the massive motoro female (Lucy by the way) I don't have the space (or food for that matter) to dedicate to any other species until we build our home in a couple years.

I had to tear this tank's sump and plumbing apart and redo it before I could move the pair. Been running with the new plumbing for a few hours and not a drop of water leaking (I love flex PVC in 2"). I had to finish this before I could move them the old plumbing was leaking and now i can disassemble everything without cutting a thing.

Targeting Wednesday to move the pair.

I like it as well other then the price for the 2inch stuff, Very clean looking sump setup and wow that is some amount of lights for maintenance. I tell myself I am going to get my power strip off the floor all the time so if water ever did spill it would be ok, mine is still sitting like your's, its the lowest thing under my stand.
