man i get crap rom my parents and i live on my own! i am 21 and i live with my girlefried and out best friend and the 2 of them give me crap but my dad still does to. he yelled at me for spending MY money on a new fish tank! i could understand if he was paying my rent and i went and did this but i live on my own and it in MY house HAHAHAHA

My parents don't exactly find fish 'interesting', but help me with the hobby up to some point.

My mom still thinks that 2 ten gallons in my room makes my room look like a museum :screwy:.

I just don't want to see the look on her face the day I replace my couch with a 150.

I must be lucky since my parents only complained about the electric. But before I walked home with a 75 gallon tank I told them I would pay more for it. But since then I came home with a 40, another 29 and a 10.

I remember when I first moved in with my wife (when we were dating) I had so many freaking tanks. And then I got my 3rd 125 and i needed a place to put it. Mind you we lived in a one bedroom apartment. On the first floor of course. I looked around and said..
Me: We dont have company much do we baby?
Her: Actually yes we do.
Me: Do they sit?
Her: Yes. Where is this going?
Me: Well I just threw out the futon so they gotta stand then.
Her: I hate you.

Ah, those were the happy days......

Pops doesnt understand my weekly water changes. He says the water is clear so there is no need and I explained to him the nitrate thing, he just tunes me out. My mom doesnt care, she comes in once in a while to look at them and goes DAM they got huge!

ya i am 24 live at home, with 23k in debt:(

Hahahah, I thought I was the only one that goes through parent struggles about this matter. I has to pay for my 60 gallon in cash so my mother wouldn't be able to trace it back to my bank statements... bwahha

lol i want a 125, but i cant transport it without my mom driving lol

kinda sucks for me...being only 15 :(
but i've been bringing up the 125 ALL the time.

Me: "you know mom, when Breakfast (biggest columbian shark) and Woompkins (4-line pictus) get bigger, they'll need a bigger tank

Mom: no more tanks. the one you have is big enough.

Me: but the 125 is 2 feet longer and 2 inches higher! D:

Mom: no more tanks.

well...not really working out. but my fish still have time. biggest fish is only 7-8 inches, and that's Zoidberg my pleco.

mabye i should get a 150 :D

LMFAO!!!

Here is mine....

Me: (Nothing said, and I end up buying a tank and setting it up when parents are working)

Parents: (after they come home) Ummmm....son I just couldn't help noticing a 180 gallon fish tank downstairs

Me: Oh yeah I just got it and was about to tell you guys sooner or later, and I got it for a hell of a deal!

Parents: How much exactly did you get it for?

Me: Around $400 (When it actually cost me $700)

Parents: Okay I guess it's okay and no more fish tanks!

Me: Sure! (But I end up getting more anyways)

The cycle repeats and I try not to set up that many tank up at once or have them running.

Overall my parents are very cool about me having fish! But yet again I am a good kid and never touched anything bad for my health before (excluding beer)! :D
