Mine is worse man
Me:Hey mum I got very good results this time can I have a bigger aquarium?
Mom+Pops:Hmm... Since you did so well, you can have a larger tank.
Me:YooHoo!
Later...
Me:Can I have a 120gallon tank around 4ft?
Mom+Pops:4ft? Why do you want such a huge tank?:screwy:
Me:Why? I am gonna have quite large fishes and don't want to waste my money.
Mom+Pops:(walks away)
Later....
Pops: I have a coffee table that is not in use you can use it as a stand and it wouldn't cost that much too!
Me:Ok...
Then it turns out to be 40" by 20"
Pops brought me to the LFS and there is a 2ft tank and a 3ft tank there. He chose the 2 footer! I argued(well, duh) the after some time we bought the 3 footer and install the lighting on the hood, paid and brought it home. I was waiting at the door so that I can help them while bringing it in... Then they put in on the coffee table outside!!! I argued again about the location and they won't allow me to put it inside... There is a perfect place in the house and they HAD to put it outside.

Since the tank is outdside so I didn't mind to mess and wet things up since its outside then my mom said that's why they won't allow the tank inside. I argued its because its outside. And as usual she walks away... Now I will try to pursue them again..

Thanks

with me its completely different :D my partner is an mfk'er so when we decided to set up a garage as our fish house, the next week he had already bought 12 tanks :D then i said i wanted micro snakehead and i got my first group the following week and now im getting a shoal of 20 rbps :D. perfect. :D

the same happens to me, it must be a world wide problem just dont listen it works most of the time and after you buy it its yours and they cant make you take it back if the place you got if from has a no return policy

Yup parents... go figure, but my main concern is space i can never fit anythinger bigger than a 55g and that's after rearranging all my furniture, and a fish room forget about it.

I guess I'm kinda lucky. As long as I take care of whatever animal I get I have a lot of freedom, currently I have 20 geckos, a ball python, 2 iguanas, and as for fish - see my sig. The best advice I can give is first get something they like (in my case it was a planted aquarium) and then expand from there. Plus I have an 8x8 piece of the basement that is all mine.

My latest project is trying to figure out how to lug a 45 gallon up the stairs undetected. :D

my wife complained i got the 55 gallon for my rbp telling me it was way to big. now she wishes she had let me get the 75 when i asked, so we would have a little more time to move rufus. wait til I tell her i want a 200+ not a 180 gallon.

in the past ive had lots of trouble convincing my mom to set up new tanks or even get fish for existing ones. but the other day out of the blue she agreed to let me get a 90g :screwy:, im still trying to figure out if its a trick or not:grinno:

For me its just convincing my boyfriend... And when he says no, I just pay my friend to go pick it up and deliver it to the house when were both at work. That way he can't say no! And plus women have ways of getting what we want ;] Right now I'm trying to convince him to let me have a 250g, stand, awesome filter, hood, whole deal, for $500. I think the guy I'm getting it from is insane! And I would be insane for not getting it! My boyfriend says we're going to have to swim to get to our bedroom but I'm okay with that :]
