And Tongue, don't sell yourself short. You've got some nice fish going. I'm waiting for you to post pics of your breeding Cichla!!

I am still hopin :) I am still new to them :) I have the growouts just in case I had two males :) and So I am still hopin that the one with out the hump and growing slower is a female :) They have exibited the tell tale signs.. but still have a few inches before they should supposedly be ready :)

Yup. Just make sure there is nothing underneath like a piece of gravel (the tiles should lay flat on the bottom).

Good Luck!

Yeah, looks like your tank is way to bare.

Get some plants, caves anything for them to "blend" in.

Its kinda like you standing in a all white room with a black shirt hoping noone will see you.

You don't need to grout it. Just lay it in. If you grout it, it's going to be fairly permenant. It's no different than laying a rock on the bottom. The tile just fits better.

Cut them, wash them, lay them in. I did it in an existing tank full of fish.

Cool. I have a pair of kelberi that are starting to look like a pair. The male is developing the ridge down the middle of his forehead and hangs out with a smaller fish almost constantly now. Here's hoping!!

:D Oooh !! I'll hope with ya!!!! :D

alright i went back to the store to check out some tiles....omg there is alot of tiles...but there were some granite tiles that caught my eye...so i was wondering would granite work in the tank? if it does or doesnt can you give me a god color for the fish tank cuz i am not good at decisions like this xD...thanx i am still at home depot so i ll wait...if you can answer back asap...thanx =)

i think i would go with something kinda dark with earthy colors, but NOT shiny.. so a nice dark brown, textured ceramic tile?..
