tryed to feed him shrimp and he wont even touch it. would love him to color up like yours.

My first midas devil wouldn't touch shrimp or krill and was light in color. I got cyclopzee powder and mixed it in with flake food I made wet and spread on a cookie sheet to dry in a thick sheet. I then broke that up and it made a really thick flake. he got really orange after eating it for a couple weeks.

i was wondering when do they start growing in "girth"? mine is a little over 8" and seems to be only growing in length right now.

He is larger enough starve him to eat shrimp and pellets if he isn't eating them yet. You can also find pellets that bring out the red in him, I think the ingredient is Asthan (SP??). What is he eating, only live?

Or you can try what Cich_lids suggested.

feed him suer soft pellets with krill, tetra crisp with color inhancers. but he just loves hikari bottom feeder waffers for some reason, and will pounce on any fish that gets in his way to get to some. where can you get that cyclopee powder, might have to give that a try. ideaconcepts post some more pix of your guy. love to get a better look at his color.

Wow, I love him!!! I hope mine grows like that...right now he is just a little guy about 2" maybe.
