My Piranhas. Evolutive thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Howdy,

Yes, I'm looking for three species :
- Pristobrycon eigenmanni. One of most beautiful and very interesting to observe.
- Serrasalmus manueli. But I shall soon have 2. :headbang2
- Pygocentrus piraya.

But it will be hard to find them a place!!

How do you have the space for all these tanks!? Mr money bags :P

:D I'm not Mr Money bag and I never will be...

I have the 320g in my living-room, a 50g in an other room ; the 215g (big rhombeus) and 8 other tanks are in a small storeroom (110ft²). The 210g I've planned for 9 caribe will be placed on a landing.

Very nice piranha's, nice to see piranha hobbyiest post up pics of their fish from other parts of the world.

Thanks.
The manueli is in a 30" quarantine tank for 3 to 4 weeks. He took his first meal today. The second one is in a similar tank but refuses to eat for the moment.
Yes, the caribe are healthy and beautiful

Do you feed all your piranhas the same variety of food? If so, what do you feed them? Schedule?

Hi kevbc03,

I vary the food : mussels, fish fillets, perches, shrimps, sometimes beefheart. The second manueli accepted to eat in the afternoon (Atherina boyeri).
For the cariba, it's more difficult because they refuse everything. They're perhaps stressed. I have to wait or to try something else!
