^ not a chance of keeping the 120 - bf has made it very clear if I get the bigger one then this one goes ...

In this hobby it very very hard to just keep only one tank. Maybe the possiblity of a custom stand to save space or downsizing your 120g to a 55g or75g. Trust me....my significant other tries to set limits, but it didn't work....I just make sure the electric bill is paid in full.

Trick i used was let my g/f pick out the fish, and name them. Then you say that well "so and so" needs a larger tank to be happy.

Our problem is down to space - we live in a flat and while its actually quite big the layout is rather strange not leaving much actual free space (not that my house is cluttered or anything....)

Doing something custom sounds like a good idea - my only problem is that neither of us are particularly handy and having it made for me is quite expensive (which is what i'm planning to do - saving up for the next year).

I've tried sneaking other tanks in - I managed the 14g simply because it fits under my 120 neatly. I actually have another tank lying around the house I do have limited approval to set it up granting we find a decent place for it.

So...its all in the air at the moment what is going to finally happen - which is why I want to gather info and try to figure stuff out.

But certain about get the 180x70x70... or maybe bumping that up to 200x70x70 - that depends though on if we are moving or not!

See how its getting all rather complicated?? Lol.

Heres a site to great info, terrible pic of the fish tho. They are a cool fish, just because they are from madagascar and are very indangered. They have a temperment like an oscar.

Thanks heaps for the sites... I'll give them a look through.

If this fish is endangered then the chances of me being able to find one will be extremely limited! I'm struggling enough as it is to get a Tex or a carpinte.

Gotten emails from a few LFS's saying they'll get them ordered but so far its been one big disappointment after the other. One place I've been calling and speaking to the guy there and its just really frustrating...

Indangered in the wild, but you can find them quite easily in the hobby. I have never seen a texas, and very few carpinite here aswell.

Ohh, well I'll have a look around perhaps I'll see it but the selection for fish here is quite limited.

I'm still waiting for word on my carpinte - this LFS guy is really letting me down to be honest. Spoken to him by phone so many times now and each time there seems to be some excuse as to why they haven't gotten it in order - and now no replies to my emails.

I've had the same luck with finding my trimac. All of the LFS here didn't have a clue on what they were. I picked one up from Spencer Jack in winnipeg when I picked up my new fishtank. Just have to keep looking, because one day your bound to find one.

Yeah... the same guy was also supposed to email me some information on the new tank I want, naturally I haven't gotten anything.
