u put this post in the wrong section.. bottom dwellers is right.. but pleco is a sub section..

anyways. going back to ur question... if u said that he's skinny and thin.. why did u buy it? is it showing signs of sunken in eyes?

What kind of pleco.. if u post a pic of the fish... i can better explain what is the cause of ur pleco not eating..

What size tank is he in...Any roomates...Is the tank established...More info the better

ill have the pix up momentarily..its ****ty as hell but its the best i can take with the cam phone.he doesnt have shrunken eyes and its a 30 gallon tank..i have 5 rosy reds and a bamboo shrimp.and also a large snail.and the tank is cycling at the moment.the only reason i got this pleco so soon is because he was a good looking one and he didnt seem too skinny at the store and he was on sale for a dollar so i couldnt pass it up.i just put some lettuce in there and hopefully he likes that

If you added the fish to an uncycled tank it could be the problem....He could also be eating at times your not watching him...He might be munching on residule food on the bottom at night.....list your water parameters if you can

give it some time.. i wouldnt be too worry since u got it brand new.. i'll take some time to adjust..

pics would be great!

well im gonna be honest..im new to this.im just going off wat the lady told me at the store.she told me that if i put some fish in there that it would help speed up the cycling of the tank and get the good bacteria and all that good stuff going.but like i said, everything seems like its going ok except for the pleco problem

that is a load of crap from the store lady... :irked:

A tank to be fully cycle is by adding Stress zyme.. live active bacteria that will help ur tank function with chemical filtration.... adding fish wont speed up a cycle..

As long as u put water conditioners in with ur water.. then it is safe for fish..

Anyways seems like u have what looks like a candy strip pleco.. still very blurry.. but thats what it looks like.. I would just continue to feed algae walfers and some veggie and leave it be..
