Thanks for the updates!
I know what you mean about it feeling cramped, even if it's technically OK. I have a hard time sometimes with keeping these fish in tanks period, which is we all try to do best by them. For me personally, the live plants and driftwood helps me to feel better about it all - like there is enrichment and a natural setting to it. With others it's stocking levels, keeping "friends" for company (like with the ropes, they like buddies), or larger tanks. (And then others on here don't seem to care with oscars in 30 gallons etc. etc.)
What size is your larger tank going to be? I'm sure you'll be happier then. The good thing is that polys aren't super active fish.
Right now as you know I am struggling with the congo tetras and the Cteno. Even though I don't care all that much about them (no personality), they seem to want to swim more than 3 feet, and when he's being a dick and chasing them, they definitely want more room to swim, and even though he's not doing damage yet they're stressed, so I feel badly. The height of the tank helps but... The Cteno actually just needs to go. It will help me settle - you don't want to look at your tank and be stressed.
DMD123 - what is your poly stock?
New tank will be 96x30x24 (300gal) with a 100ish gal sump. Wanted somwthing a little lower than my 150 so i xhose the 24 inch height. Easier to get into for maintenance.
The never ending game of rehoming fish lol. Watch what happens when you start adding the cichlids into the mix lol think Murphy's law haha it will be fun though.
